About the Prints

• All works are printed using Epson Stylus Pro printers with long-lasting Ultrachrome® HDR inks on professional glossy photo paper, with a small white border to facilitate mounting and framing.

• Prints are unframed. Photographs of framed prints are included only as display suggestions.

• Each print is securely packaged in a water-resistant sleeve and rigid mailer

• Larger print sizes are available upon request.

Dún Briste

Dún Briste, meaning “Broken Fort" in Irish, is a sea stack located off the coast of Downpatrick Head in County Mayo, Ireland. It's a notable geomorphological feature and a popular tourist attraction on the Wild Atlantic Way. The stack separated from the mainland during a severe storm in 1393. Its creation took place in the year 1393 when a strong high tide cloud broke it and left it stranded near the sea. Evidence that it was once part of the mainland was presented in 1980 by researchers who landed on it and carried out surveys,where they found stone buildings and remains of sheep crossings.

About the artists

Rafał Król was born and raised in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, a small and picturesque city near the Beskid Mountains once known for its Fiat factory, which produced the iconic Fiat 126p. After Poland joined the European Union in 2004 and borders opened, he moved to Ireland, where he has lived ever since. He purchased his first camera—a compact Pentax S30—to document his time abroad, and what began as a simple fascination with photographing everything around him gradually evolved into a deep passion for minimalistic black-and-white seascape and landscape photography.

Rafał’s photography has been exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy’s Annual Art Exhibition (Dublin, 2014 and 2018), the Royal Ulster Academy (Belfast, 2015), and The Library Project (Dublin, 2018–2024). His work has also appeared in publications including Square Magazine (Canada), B+W Photography (UK), and Analog Magazine (Switzerland), among others.
